Rakan Rushaidat

Rakan Rushaidat was born in Irbid, Jordan, on 25 October 1977 but has lived in Croatia since he was two. He went to the Zagreb Youth Theatre’s (ZKM) College from 1991 to 1995 and graduated from the Zagreb University Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2002. Since 2015, he has been the member of the ZKM company.

Rakan has received a number of professional awards in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the 2016 Croatian Actor Award for the best male leading role of Eugen Hinkemann in Hinkemann and the 2018 Gavella Evenings Award for the best male role of Aaron in Titus Andronicus.

 He has been acting professionally since 1997 and has worked with a number of Croatian theatres, including the Croatian National Theatre in Split, Rijeka, Varaždin, and Osijek, City Theatre Gavella, Exit Theatre, &TD Theatre, KNAP, City Theatre Trešnja, and Kerempuh Theatre.

He also played in films directed by renowned directors, such as Antonio Nuić (Sve džaba / All for Free), Goran Dević and Zvonimir Jurić (Crnci / The Blacks), Zvonimir Jurić, Antonio Nuić, and Boris T. Matić (Sex piće i krvoproliće / Sex, Drink, and Bloodshed), Branko Schmidt (Metastaze / Metastases), Nevio Marasović (Vis-à-Vis), and Tomislav Mršić (Kauboji / Cowboys).
